Kind of dry reading, but it’s slightly fun:Process Analysis and Information System Implementation

On the negative side, implementation teams that try to do process analysis during the implementation frequently fail because they do not have the
time to do it properly. They are pressed with hundreds of other tasks, they are in training classes more days than they knew they had, and the
process analysis is either not done or done badly. This results in the team members setting up the new system “on the fly” using their own
knowledge and experience. No matter how knowledgeable and experienced a team-member is they can not retain and understand all aspects of
the company’s business. The time to do process analysis is before the implementation project itself starts.
