As an experienced business writer, I met more half-baked, unprofessional, semi-sleezy companies in NYC than I knew existed, thanks to the platform provided by free craigslist.org job postings. Yeesh! Creepy.

.org, .com, .net all work, .org preferable, since it signals our intent as a community service.

we charge only in sf, la, ny, maybe will charge for apartment rental listings in ny, having a public discussion on that now.

In answer to your question about how craigslist makes money when everything is free. Well in San Francisco they charge for listing jobs(unless they are non-profit). Im sure that they will start doing the same in Austin once the site really takes hold.

Out here is SF craigslist reigns supreme for anything from job listings to Dating to finding a free sofa for your apartment. Its really a useful site. I think that part of it's usefullness come from the fact that it is the go-to place for so many types of services. It just pops into your mind whenever you need somthing.

I promise that craigslist will become HUGE in austin in no time. Out here its absurdly big.
