Our man Klobe had a link to BarCampAustin. It’s Saturday, March 11th, 2006.
I’ve never been to a foo/bar/baz camp, so I figure with one in my town, I outta check this one out full-bore.
I proposed the session “Agile in the Real World: Wild Success, Terrible Failure, and Endless Yelling,” which I know many of you, dear readers, would love to give input on and participate in.
Hopefully several of you will work with me on that idea and show up at the camp as well.
BarCamp looks like a great idea with unfortunate timing. It takes place during SXSW interactive! I would like to participate, but I’ve paid cash money to be at SXSWi.
However, I can still help develop your session – it’s a good one. Very close to my heart.
Yep, I paid for SXSW then heard about BarcampAustin. Just hooked up with Whurley over lunch and get the bits on what’s up. BarcampAustin is within walking distance (albiet a long walk) from SXSW. So it shouldn’t be too difficult to slip in and out.
At first glance at the SXSW interactive talks I found some topics missing I wanted to hear more about – around social tagging, social bookmarking and all matters relating to starts-ups in this new area. I did see quite a bit of AJAX and Ruby on Rails talks but geesh, I’ve heard the guys at 37Signals now multiple times on Podcasts.
Anyway, truth is there will be lots of cool people, great networking and good vibes at both. I’m looking forward to finding my way around to both locations as much as possible. Though yea next year, make them on different days……..
