Kim and I are probably going to get bamboo flooring for our kitchen. I’ve put some quote requests out to a few people, but I thought I’d check with all of you: do you know a good place to order the flooring from and/or people to hire in the Austin area to put it in?

China is here Mr. Burton.
The best part is, if you were making this netrack in Austin, it would be made of bamboo. If you’re looking for a quote here it is:
“Are you sure it’s real bamboo, or does it just look like bamboo? Bamboo is an awfully week material to be walking on all day.”
–Charles Lowell
You know, I know the netrack thing is funny…but I dont remember the reference…
I hear bamboo is strong.
You know, Mike Burns would be an excellent source of bamboo. His One Acre Lot on Shoal Creek is just teeming with bamboo. It’s a bamboo forest. I’m sure he’d let you come and cut some down.
I don’t know who could finish it for you, but I bet if they have any scraps left over you could make a good Chinese dish out of it, maybe even a Bamboo Sandwich – two slices of whole wheat, Li Kum Kee, Chinese Sausages, fried rice, and steamed bamboo shoots.
Bamboo Sandwich! Sounds lovely!
