Oracle is a Wolf in Sheep's Clothing when it comes to Open Source.

Intrested to hear that you are speaking at Oracle open world, especially regarding Open Source.

I'm not convinced that Oracle is committed to open source, though I do think it is a very strong advocate for open standards (SQL,XML,SOA,JAVA).

I do not expect the release of any prized assets such as the Oracle App's Suite into the open source community anytime soon. However lots of PR coverage was given over to their release of the ADF framework into the Open Source Community.

Are Oracle just using the Open Source community as an addtional marketing badge. (see Blog: http://dev2dev.bea.com/blog/estahl/archive/2006/02/oraclejboss_can_1.html)

Also, why is there not an Open Source project for Business Applications, to really push SAP, Oracle, et al to make a real commitment to the Open Source Community.

Loving the Podcast. Keep it up.
