While here at the inlaws over Christmas, I’ve watched a ton of this kid’s show called “Avatar: Last of the Airbenders.” It’s a pretty complicated Kung-Fu serial about a world that seems divided along elemental lines: fire, earth, water, and air.
The kids love it!
And why not? The whole premise is that this pack of about 4 teens (who act like Tweens) have special powers and have to go trough a seemngly endless picadoric quest that finally ends in a big, movie length fight with “The Fire Lord.”
Legendary!
In the meantime there’s all sorts of Nick-level romance: a quick peck here and there, often after some shassy remark, with the recievier of the kiss getting that Anime wide eyed look of astonishment. Also, there’s a whole succesion to the throne fight throughout, all 100 Years War style.
The last interesting aspect is the mixing of what looks like Chinese, Indian, and Native American cultures and races; I’m sure I’ve missed some other ones.
As I recall there’s a whole card game that goes along with Avatar, and these dudes would be insane not to have video games to go along with it too.
